I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord

Please meet our son Evan...

The above is of Brett holding his son for the first time! This was last night!!
On Tuesday I was able to hold Evan for the first time...Kangaroo care! What a moment that was!
Our little angel Evan...boy, does he LOVE to pose!!
This picture was of Evan's first day in the world! He was on a ventilator and oxygen for about 3 days and then was taken off because he was able to breathe all on his own! WOW!!!!
The wonderful nurses enjoy decorating the isolette for the boys! This was Evan's welcome

  1. Heather, Your sons are just beautiful. Our hearts are just breaking with you as you go through the loss of your little fighter Zac. So glad that Evan is doing so well and continuing to pray that he has no setbacks and grows by leaps and bounds.Let us know if there is anyway we can be there for you.Take care my friend.

  2. Oooh! I just get so excited to see you smiling with Evan. He looks awesome! He looks like he moves around a lot. (Smiles) I love to see you holding him - how amazing. He is precious! Evan looks a lot like Brett. (Smiles again.) You and Brett are doing a great job of trying to juggle all of these life events all at once. I'm praying for you all. Psalms 121:1-2

  3. Evan is adorable! You two sure know how to make cute babies ;) Praying that Evan continues to be strong....using all that fight he learned from his brother!

  4. Brett and Heather,
    There is obviously much that can be, should and needs to be stated to you at this time in your life. There must be mountains of words that have been shared to you to let you know that you are not alone, that God is with you and that He does have a purpose in this time of your life and, in all honesty, I am sure that if I could have a face to face with you I may share some of the same sentiments but that is not what I feel led to do at this point or through this vein of communication. What I would like to share with you is this: I really believe that there are no mere words or sentences that are meant to necessarily lighten the weight of joy and sorrow that you must be bearing at this time and that fact should not cause you any grief or sorrow but rather should cause all that is going on around you to literally pause in time so that you can have the time to gather at the throne of your living God and have you see Him rise from His throne and embrace you until your pain dissipates IN HIS TIME and in His grace and in His peace and even in His joy. Your Heavenly Father loves you and your beautiful family. He not only WILL BE but He is your strength and as you need Him He is. Not He is there or He is Love but simply He is. He is whatever it is you need. I want to encourage you out of love to question your God. But I also want o lovingly encourage you to do your absolute best to not DOUBT him. To question our living God does not lead one to disown him or live in unbelief. It is natural for us to question Him because it is at those moments that shows that there is a true relationship and not a dictatorship. It shows that there is a comfortability in knowing the living God. It allows us to pose our questions to The Living God in honesty and pain but still have the strength and courage to bow to him in surrender.
    Brett and Heather and Evan your Father is with you. Be honest with Him because he longs not for your religious words but rather your heartfelt symphonic words expressed in honesty, love, frustration, pain, hurt, joy, peace. He not only walks with you or carries you but He protects you and will truly hide you in the shadow of His wing for He will be your comfort and peace and healing. Enjoy his fragrance as He draws you to his heart and take your time with Him because those that love you will be here when you are ready. More to be shared but maybe another time. Truly all my love to your beautiful family at this time.
